The world of art exhibitions and cultural events is still mainly “pen and paper” today. To optimize time and costs in the organization, “My Digital Exhibition Manager” arrives, one of the projects selected for the MVP Factory acceleration program, the initiative created by Apply, Nana Bianca, StartupItalia and Radix.
“My Digital Exhibition Manager” (name of the project and the technological solution) “offers various integrated digital tools available to public and private cultural stakeholders - explains Gianni Pasquetto, creator and director of the project - to reap the advantages of digital transformation and then to digitally support the management of an exhibition through the management of processes, documents and supporting content, for an innovative development of cultural business”.
The solution consists precisely of different modules, for example the possibility of virtually setting up exhibitions in a photorealistic environment, thanks to a Digital Twin marked in Blockchain of the exhibition space (architectural site) that hosts the exhibition. The building is digitized internally and externally with the use of laser scanners, drones, and high-definition photographic surveys. The subsequent BIM (Building Information Modeling) processing adds different levels of information useful to support all the documents and processes to be managed: the Facility Report, for the certification of the exhibition space and the suitability to host an exhibition, highlighting the state of the building in its structural components, systems (electrical, HVAC, fire fighting, security...), accessibility. The My Digital Facility Report form will be automated when completed and marked in Blockchain, essential for the entire chain of managing an exhibition, from organizers to service providers, from insurance to transport, to garrison and custody.
With the Digital Twin of the exhibition space, it will be possible to create a metrically realistic 3D virtual environment, to facilitate and facilitate the virtual set-up (the module is called “My Digital Virtual Set-up”): it allows you to design the scenographic apparatus, the study and arrangement of mobile walls, the lighting; the arrangement of the works on the wall, on the floor or on supports, pedestals, display cases. A sort of mockup of the exhibition set up is created, navigable at 360° and updatable in real time, with great savings in time and costs.
To facilitate exhibition organizers, we have also studied “My Digital Condition Report”, the document that certifies the condition of a work of art and that follows the digital traceability of the state of conservation relating to all processes, from lending, packaging, transport, preparation, exhibition in exhibition, return or movement to another location. Each step is carefully traced, verified and marked in Blockchain in order to automatically and interactively support each of its uses by insurance companies, owners of the work, etc. The use of smartphones and speech-to-text technology allow a direct and fast experience.
The My Digital Exhibition Manager team has also designed the first marketplace for all exhibition spaces, with the need to create a national “booking”. The integration with “My Digital Location” starting from the territorial indication, it will be possible to search for locations based on a series of parameters such as period and availability, dimensions, characteristics, cost, supporting organization.
“The MVP Factory program can help us to organize ourselves from a financial and partly technological point of view - explains Pasquetto - we have been entrusted with an acceleration mentor in the person of Pierluigi Vaccaneo, director of the Cesare Pavese Foundation (Santo Stefano Belbo, CN) with whom a great empathy was born and who has well understood how, with our ten years of activity on this path, we are ready to work to promote and disseminate our solution. We have agreed that the cultural body he heads can certainly become an important case study for which to structure a first “prototype” model, allowing us to present ourselves to the market with an endorsement and a functional-applicative format. There are many realities, public and private museums, art galleries, collections, artists, professionals in the sector, auction houses, insurance companies, event organizers who can discover how much our proposal can allow everyone to work in great synergy”.
