If the recovery and exchange of old computer devices It is a well-established habit among private individuals, a service of circular economy which concerns the reconditioning and recycling of business hardware was introduced by Circular Technologies, the startup that participated in the penultimate batch of the acceleration program Hubble.
“A green solution that involves companies that deal with 'technological lefts' in decidedly larger quantities than a private individual who wants to sell a telephone,” he says Domingo Noguera, CEO and Co-Founder of the startup founded by a group of Italian-Venezuelan friends (Enrico Agnese (HI), Andres Valongo (COO) and Marco Vannini (HOW).
Noguera explains: “In 90% of cases, products from companies' warehouses end up in landfills. Businesses buy or rent almost 1,000 Euro of hardware products for each employee; after three years, it is preferred to call a disposal company, when, on the other hand, if those same products were sold, it would be possible to save 40% of annual expenditure and 90% of carbon emissions.”
How do you convince companies to take the green path?“Our technology, ReValue, creates a real circular ICT supply chain, connecting companies, both private and public, with industries specialized in reconditioning and recycling. We offer two digital solutions: with ReCover, companies can obtain the maximum economic and environmental value from their used ICT, whether purchased or rented, by reselling it to a network of reconditioners or recyclers. With ReSource, on the other hand, companies have the opportunity to purchase certified refurbished products, thus reducing their environmental impact and optimizing investments in technology. Finally, all this is tracked to calculate and certify the economic and environmental impact of each transaction.”
What is your market?“We focus on Italian and European market, for now specifically on service companies, such as banks and insurance companies. Our five-year goal is to serve 5% of that market.
We differentiate ourselves from competitors because we offer a very high recovery rate on the market and we are fully integrated into the supply chain with a complete offer for B2B.”
What are the objectives for 2025?“In 2025, we are facing a significant strategic pivot. We decided to reduce our commercial and fundraising efforts to focus on the launch ofICT Circular Observatory, the first observatory dedicated to the circular economy in ICT. This step will allow us to consolidate our position as point of reference in the sector, continuing to oversee a strategic opportunity. With one of the largest databases in Europe on this topic, we consider it essential to carry out an awareness-raising activity that helps promote greater awareness of the potential and importance of circularity in ICT.”
